The Denton County Immunization Coalition works to foster immunization through educating the public, childcare providers, and healthcare professionals. Our mission is Protecting adults and children in Denton County by promoting timely immunizations.

Goal:

Coalition activities and outreach are designed to increase Denton County adult and childhood vaccines rates for infants and toddlers to 90% or greater for the universally recommended vaccinations.

Rationale:

Healthy People 2010 established a national coverage rate goal of 90% for the six universally recommended vaccines to be achieved by the year 2010.

Values:

• Promoting access to immunizations, particularly to underserved populations
• Providing accurate immunization information and education
• Developing partnerships in Denton County that will help promote and increase immunization rates
